We advocate for Women, everywhere.
Congress has passed the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) which has illustrated a series of legal benefits available to victims of domestic abuse. These benefits include government assistance while awaiting green cards for spouses and children of Permanent Residents that have been made subject to violence and domestic abuse. While VAWA was made into law with women and children in mind, benefits are also available to male victims of domestic or family abuse abuse not only being limited to physical violence, but also psychological abuse.
How we can help:
The VAWA application process demands:- Presentation of evidence that the applicant is, or is the spouse of, a US citizen or permanent resident.
- That the marriage was founded on good faith.
- The moral character of the applicant.
- The veracity of the abuse claims
Since all applicants must provide an intensely detailed declaration disclosing the history of the relationship and the abuse, applicants are best served by utilizing the skills of an experienced Immigration attorney. At the Law Office of Anatoly Kissen, we can provide the essential skills and advocacy necessary for processing legal courses of action related to the Violence Against Women Act.
